According to the Mexican court verdict last January, the Canadian company Thunderbird will have to pay 175 million dollars to the State for reparation.
Between 2000 and 2001, the company opened three slot machine houses in Tamaulipas. The Government Secretary closed them because they were forbidden chance games involving gambling, but Thunderbird answered that they were skill games.
The Court determined that there was nothing to object about the conduct of the Government Secretary and ordered the closure of the three establishments and sentenced the company to pay for the expenses and costs of the legal procedure.
