Antigua requires online gambling information from USA
The Caribbean country of Antigua and Barbuda has required information to Washington regarding Internet gambling restrictions in the United States, as a previous step in the creation of a research panel in the World Trade Organization (WTO).
This panel would investigate whether the laws are compatible with the international commerce regulations, according to information published today by Yogonet.com.
The communication from Antigua asks the United States to suggest and establish dates for future conversations within the next two weeks.
If no solution is found for both parts in 15 days, the WTO will have to organize a special panel to treat this subject within a 90-days period. The decision can be appealed later by the other part.
The dispute centers on the possibility of Washington allowing American people to gamble on online casinos.
